Why ITC: History and Philosophy
The Instructor Training Course: Educating and Training (also referred to as the original course) was conceived in 1997 out of a dream to create a special academic expertise for canine professionals. The course would go beyond the two-day lecture collection, or rigid applications that taught only a selected methodology. It would offer a standard small classroom environment with revolutionary teachers to mix confirmed principle, empirical evidence, and common sense. The course needed to domesticate vital thinking by means of watching, listening, and doing. It could be laborious work with excessive expectations but encourage fun, camaraderie and sharing. The atmosphere wanted to be secure and permit for private decisions, accepting every person’s journey as a trainer and dog trainer. And lastly, the course needed to enrich the lives of homeless dogs.

The primary course ran in 1999. Since then, the unique course has run each year through 2017. We took a brief break to maneuver the course from New York to Colorado to start out with a fresh, new look for 2019. In 2001, a session degree course, ITC: Consultations and Drawback Fixing (previously named the Superior Course ) was added based on encouragement from the course alumni and workers. In 2015 and 2016, we up to date the course, made the class smaller and renamed it as ITC: Modifying Behavior.

All courses have an interactive format with restricted enrollment for plenty of individual attention in a supportive setting. Courses are restricted to between 10 - sixteen full time college students depending on the staffing and location. The format consists of: practice instructing, displays, group initiatives, video analysis, video games, and lecture.
